I started using Elementor since a few weeks to improve my personal Web site created with Sydney theme (www.nicolamuraro.it).
Now I have issues I did not face before.
While opening the home page the following warnings are shown:
“Warning: mysqli_num_fields() expects parameter 1 to be mysqli_result, boolean given in /web/htdocs/www.nicolamuraro.it/home/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 3353
… document.addEventListener(‘touchstart’, onTouchStart, {passive: true});”
The warnings do not stop pages loading, but clearly they are not acceptable.
I do not know if it depends on Elementor or not, of if there is a known conflict among Elementor and others plugins.
Anybody faced same or similar issues?
How is it possible to fix them?
Thank you advance for any help coming from you, my friendsWarnings.

How to create a custom wallet system ?
I am working on a college project which is a website in which i am buying some products from customer or user. So i want to pay them for the stuff that i buy from them.
But directly providing them cash instead i want a wallet system in which i can transfer money in their wallet so that there will be a proof of our transaction.
Is there any plugin in wordpress which can solve my above problem. Since i am new in wordpress so i don’t know how to achieve this.

Unable to run wordpress update – receiving error 429 from wordpress.org
Hi there,
I’m running a website in China and I’m trying to run an automatic update from WordPress 4.4.2 to the latest version. When I run the update from the Dashboard, it fails. I’ve tracked down the problem. When update.php tries to access
http://api.wordpress.org/plugins/update-check/1.1/
and
http://api.wordpress.org/core/version-check/1.7/?
wordpress.org’s nginx responds with an error 429 too many requests. I realize that this is probably because so many bad actors come out of Chinese IP addresses. My website is hosted on Aliyun, which is one of China’s biggest hosting platforms.
I’d prefer not to do a manual update if possible.
Is there any workaround for this? Can’t seem to find any mirrors or other workarounds.
Thank you!

Reply To: Customize dashboard widgets
There’s more to learn about wp and give back to wp community. I’ll be hanging around here. 🙂
I hid the widget and created a new widget using wp_add_dashboard_widget() function.

getEditedPostAttributes(‘tags’) only returns IDs
Hi
I’m using select('core/editor').getEditedPostAttribute('tags')
As I want a block to reflect the current tags selected in the sidebar.
However, I can only access the IDs using this query, is there a way to access the entire tag?
select('core').getEntityRecords('taxonomy', 'post_tag')
gets me all tags and I can loop through and build the information I need to display this, however if the tag is newly added (it didn’t exist before and was added in the sidebar) the above selector doesn’t return this new tag, there seems to be some caching going on behind the scenes, I don’t see another API request being sent.
Reply To: Can’t style the category compents panel in Gutenberg
I figured this out by doing the styling with jquery.
jQuery(document).ready(function ($) {
setTimeout(function () {
$('.editor-post-taxonomies__hierarchical-terms-list').css({
'min-height': '800px'
});
}, 2000);
})

Reply To: How to get subscription quantity?
The subscription is saved as an order in Woocommerce tables and I can retrieve all its data (e.g. start date, end date, purchase date, payment), but quantity is what I’m missing I don’t know how to get it.
Reply To: Gutenberg: Tags disappear on entry
Are “WordPress devs” working on a fix for this? This thread is well over a year old. I guess this is the same as my related bug bear…. I have a pre-formatted set of tags that I add to every post, and it used to be the case that I was able to copy and paste that comma-separated list into the tags box and hit enter to save them all. Now if I do this everything appears in the tag list but then disappears as soon as I hit enter or comma.

Items missing from Dashboard
When going to the dashboard I noticed many items are missing including:
settings
plugins
I’ve looked under the wp-content and the plugins folder is there.
I moved the website from a shared hosting to premium hosting buy first clone it to http://www.cute-pets.co.uk to see if it worked correctly. Everything was as supposed to be. I could shop and pay on both sites. Then I move the domain http://www.newportpets.co.uk to the premium hosting and cloned the site from cute-pets to newporpets. I haven’t deleted it from cute-pets but both sites seem to be working fine.
I can see plugins, settings etc on the cute-pets dashboard but as I said in the beginning, it’s not showing up on the newportpets dashboard along with some other things that should be there.
I’ve done the cache thing and am totally stuck in what to do.
Hope someone can help me out, please.

Have you got screen shots of the issue on your dashboard? I might be able to help then.

Unfortunately, I tried it and did not work, and I faced two problems. The first did not show the countdown, and the second problem is that the link is not fetched by the script.
Disable all oembed_providers except Twitter
I need to block/disable all embeds on WordPress except Twitter, in both the backend and frontend.
How to best do this?
There is a question similar to this on Stackoverflow from nearly 4.5 years ago (https://stackoverflow.com/questions/19466374/), but unfortunately I couldn’t get the code in any of the answers to work, and I imagine WordPress core has likely changed significantly during this time.
I see one could use wp_oembed_remove_provider()
to remove individual providers, but as WordPress changes providers between updates, this seems untenable to keep them all blocked, except Twitter.

Please ask plugin specific questions in that plugin’s dedicated sub-forum instead.
Reply To: Command Line Plugin Activation Fails
One follow up question: I’ve debugged the offending plugin (in lieu of the plugin author debugging it themselves!) and I’ve found the issue. Is there anything in the WP core functionality that allows me to check in code if activation is specifically from the CLI to distinguish it from the dashboard?
e.g. if ( wp_ActivationFromCLI() ) {…}
