Same problem for me, MediaTemple has no idea.
My DV is set to UTC, WordPress is set to Manila.
PHP is set to UTC. Using a override like date.timezone=UTC or via pHP function makes no difference either.

All times are 5 hours off – Both UTC and Local time.
The GMT+0 vs London and GMT+8 vs Manila setting makes no difference.
They’re all 5 hours off.

Images not uploading

Hi.

When I try and upload images to my media library, I get an error message that says “The uploaded file could not be moved to uploads/2017/01.”

I have tried uploading images I already have on the site, but even these will not upload.

I have another website and everything works fine with that.

I use a web based version of WordPress and it is hosted with a web hosting company.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Review this: http://www.checkupdown.com/status/E503.html
– contact your webhost.
– check your .htaccess file
– check IP restrictions.
– check DNS/name servers
– If the issue persists, it is likely a server issue despite what your host says.

Reply To: No Theme Files for my Site in Database

I can not find my wordpress files for the theme I’m using (Business Elite), nor can I find any php, css, or anything else pertaining to it. I have checked wp-content/themes as well as my phpMyAdmin database.

– You will not find your theme templates in Database. For they are not stored in the DB.

– They are stored in the the theme’s folder at:
wp-content/themes/ YOUR THEME/

If you don’t find them there, it probably means:
– it got deleted, check your trash bin
– or, you have it under different name

What’s your site’s URL?

Have you tried: – Flushing any caching plugins you might be running, as well as server and/or browser caches. Not just your browser, but any op cache or content network cache as well such as Cloudflare. If your host provider has a “Purge Varnish” option or if you can ask your provider to flush memcache on your server.
– deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
manually resetting the plugins folder by FTP/ SFTP (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause. Also remember to deactivate any plugins in the mu-plugins folder (if you have created such folder). The easiest way is to rename that folder to mu-plugins-old.
– switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Sixteen, etc.) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

Internal server errors (error 500) are often caused by plugin or theme function conflicts, so if you have access to your admin panel, try deactivating all plugins. If you don’t have access to your admin panel, try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the default theme for your version of WordPress to rule-out a theme-specific issue. If you don’t have access to your admin panel, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue.

If that does not resolve the issue, it’s possible that a .htaccess rule could be the source of the problem. To check for this, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, and rename the .htaccess file. If you can’t find a .htaccess file, make sure that you have set your SFTP or FTP client to view invisible files.

If you weren’t able to resolve the issue by either resetting your plugins and theme or renaming your .htaccess file, we may be able to help, but we’ll need a more detailed error message. Internal server errors are usually described in more detail in the server error log. If you have access to your server error log, generate the error again, note the date and time, then immediately check your server error log for any errors that occurred during that time period. If you don’t have access to your server error log, ask your hosting provider to look for you.

Hi t-p
Thanks for your previous reply. I followed your steps with no results so ended up reinstalling wordpress. My site is now working but I’m getting the following messages from the back end when I try to enable any plugin. Any ideas on this?

Warning: include(1): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/hlmparry/public_html/wp-config.php on line 60

Warning: include(1): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/hlmparry/public_html/wp-config.php on line 60

My blog, at blog.sandlerbooks.com was working fine a few days ago and I made not changes to its structure when I made a posting at that time.

Today, when it loads, on the dashboard I see a set of eight or ten error messages. Any help would be appreciated very much.

probably the the install did not complete.

try MANUALLY updating. Download a fresh copy of the WordPress .zip file to your computer, unzip it, and use that to copy up all files and folders EXCEPT the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory. You may need to delete the old wp-admin and wp-includes folders and files on your server before uploading the new ones. Please read the Manual Update directions first.

Hey there t-p, thanks a lot for your reply.

I’ve had a try on what you’ve suggested, and it doesn’t seem to do the trick, unfortunately.

What I don’t understand is why does it work fine on my Mac, but not at all on my partners Mac. We’ve noticed as well that Netflix has stopped working on her browser, but works fine on mine. Could this be connected in some way?

Our blog is over at: http://www.thegallivantingjournals.co.uk/blog/ – just incase you can see anything there?

Many thanks.

Reply To: Installing child theme using functions.php

I made zip files of functions.php and style.css in the child themes folder. In the functions.php I copy and pasted:

<?php
function my_theme_enqueue_styles() {

$parent_style = ‘parent-style’; // This is ‘twentyfifteen-style’ for the Twenty Fifteen theme.

wp_enqueue_style( $parent_style, get_template_directory_uri() . ‘/style.css’ );
wp_enqueue_style( ‘child-style’,
get_stylesheet_directory_uri() . ‘/style.css’,
array( $parent_style ),
wp_get_theme()->get(‘Version’)
);
}
add_action( ‘wp_enqueue_scripts’, ‘my_theme_enqueue_styles’ );
?>

and in the style.css I put:

/*
Theme Name: Illdy Child
Theme URI: http://livingleashless.com/Illdy-child/
Description: Illdy Theme
Author: Colorlib
Author URI: http://colorlib.com
Template: Illdy
Version: 1.0.35.2
License: GNU General Public License v2 or later
License URI: http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-2.0.html
Tags: blog, e-commerce, portfolio
Text Domain: illdy
*/

But under appearance>themes I get this message:

Template is missing. Standalone themes need to have a index.php template file. Child themes need to have a Template header in the style.css stylesheet.

What else needs to be added to complete the child theme?

Thank you!
