I just installed wordpress onto my web host. Then I wanted to get rid of the /wordpress from my website's url. So I followed the directions on http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory this website. Or I should say I tried. Somewhere along the way I screwed up. I put tried setting the URL as http://www.thepostfightbinge.com and the WordPress directory as http://www.thepostfightbinge.com/wordpress. After copying index.php files and .htaccess files and all that I thought I got it to work. But weird things started happening, like i could only log-in at http://www.thepostfightbinge.com/wordpress/wp-admin rather than the one I listed under the directory. So I figured why not just make that the WordPress directory. I did that and I couldn't get into my WordPress section of the website. So I figured I'd try re-FTPing the WordPress installation files that I got from wordpress.org, and did some more file shuffling and probably screwed things up WORSE. Now the log-in page looks funny (doesn't have the clean WordPress layout, it just shows the log-in text, boxes, and links in plain font on the top left hand corner), and when I try to log-in using this funny looking log-in page, it takes me to a page that says "404 Not Found." I'm completely new to this, I just started learning html and css, so please forgive me for not knowing what's going on. If anyone can help me I'd really appreciate it!
