kendriver on "logo disappears on iPhone and in print"

Using twentytwelve-child theme, my header area includes a background image (for 'ambience'), plus a logo, Site Title and Tagline superimposed over the header background. Only way I could make that work, adapting code found on the forum among similar topics, was to specify both images as background images in my child style sheet, positioned so that logo sits on the left, with Title and Tagline to the right of logo. This works fine on displays larger than 600px wide, but the logo disappears when viewed on my iPhone (should be centred over Site Title on smaller screens). Also, I would like the logo to be included when printing the current web page. Any ideas please?
Specifying a custom header image does not work. Spell it out for me please, I know CSS but PHP code is foreign to me.
