rickeyw on "WordPress 3.8.1.Update Message"

I have some WordPress sites on a VPS that I have updated from 3.8 to the lastest 3.8.1 release. Yet the Dashboard still shows a message that I need to update to 3.8.1. The update appeared to be successful on all three WordPress sites yet they all say that I still need to update.

I'm very confused so if anyone has any insight into what's going on I would be most grateful.
