I have encountered the following standard error:

"Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can't contact the database server at couponclub.csfmzdaohpvj.us-east-1.rds.amazonaws.com. This could mean your host's database server is down.
Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?
If you're unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums."

From other forum posts, I understand that typical reasons for this error are:
1. Database server is down (not operating)
2. Wrong information in wp-config.php--either DB_HOST, DB_USER, DB_PASSWORD, or DB_NAME.

My database server is functioning correctly for another, non-WordPress site I manage. I suspect my problem is the DB_HOST or DB_NAME configuration, since "couponclub" (as stated in the error) is not and never has been my database server. However, since this error prevents me from reaching a login page, I am unable to change these settings. Any advice on how to respond to this troubling problem?
