Hope someone can help me...
1. I tried to update automatically to 3.8 but the installation got hung up...it never completed. Decided to do a manual update.
2. Deactivated all plugins.
3. Downloaded 3.8 and uploaded wp-admin, wp-includes, all other root files except wp-config.
4. Site appears fine to public.
5. Went to log in as admin...did not accept what I thought was my password.
6. Clicked and completed the "Lost password?" email request for a new password. Received the email and clicked on the link. Returned to a blank white page!
7. Went in to FTP and turned on error reporting. Tried again and received the message "Fatal error: Call to undefined function check_password_reset_key() in D:\Domains\rscmnz.org.nz\wwwroot\wp-login.php on line 566"
8. Consulted Wordpress support forums and tried the following..
9. Changed Plugins folder name to "plugins-old". Same error.
10. Changed the theme "Options" to "Options-old". No error message but still a blank page.
11. Repeated the manual install with a fresh copy of wordpress 3.8. and changing theme and plugins folder names to original and then back to "-old". Same situation.
Helllllllp...please
