bob cavanaugh on "can't get audio player to show up"

Hi,
I just started my site today with the latest version of Wordpress. The problem I'm having is that I upload an audio file from my computer to my media library and insert it into the post, but it doesn't show up there. The file shows up in the media library as attached to the post, but there's no code that indicates an audio player is in the post and the audio player does not appear when viewing the post. After searching for "audio player" on this site, I determined that the cause of the problem was that I did not have an audio player plugin on my site, so I installed one. That still didn't work so I went into the media library again and deleted the file, thinking that uploading it again would fix the problem, but no such luck, still no code showing and no audio player in post. What could be going on?
