padasalgi on "My Blog not opening"

I am quite new to php and wordpress.On 12th Dec 2013, I installed wordpress in my directory "padasalgi.in" on hostgator server.I created a test/sample webpage by name "My Blog". Since I do not know the correct procedure though this page was published whenever I click visit my site it takes me to my padasalgi.in index file which is hosted with hostgator .Please advise and guide me how I can create and publish my different web pages using word press and in which directory I have to save them for surfing in future so that these files do not mix up with my other files already hosted on the server.Is it ok if I move all the wordpress installed files to separate folder.Pl advise.
