larabbit7 on "Hosting files (PDF Worksheets) Outside of Wordpress?"

Hi,

I'm going to be building a worksheet website where I will be hosting worksheets and flashcards for language students.

I was thinking I could just upload them via FTP to my web directory instead of going through the wordpress uploader because the path will be easier to remember / access and there will be a better linking path for seo? Is this correct?

If I have 100 worksheets they would be organized into folders.

http://www.xyz.com/spanish-worksheets/worksheet1.pdf
http://www.xyz.com/spanish-worksheets/worksheet2.pdf

http://www.xyz.com/german-worksheets/worksheet1.pdf

etc.

This would be better then http://www.xyz.com/wp-uploads/date/whateverelse/more-stuff/worksheet2.pdf - that wordpress uses.

Is it better to just manually upload to the folder on my server and leave the wordpress media uploader out of it all?
