esugrue on "Way to check for 3.5.x compatibility?"

Hi!
I am installing a theme for a client they purchased from Template Monster and it won't display correctly.

The info on the TM site says it is compatible to v 3.4.2 (I am trying to install on 3.5.1).

However according to TM support it IS compatible with 3.5.1 - is there a plugin or some code I can look for to determine whether it is compatible with 3.5.1?

Just so I don't spend time looking for errors or fixes that won't work anyway if the theme isn't compatible.
