I've made a child theme for twenty eleven and my home page holds a list of my most recent blogs. Within the footer meta of each blog listed on my home page I currently have categories listed, for eg.
Posted in Category >>, Category >>
I would like to add the author of the post at the end of this line eg.
Posted in Category >>, Category >> by John Smith

I tried to modify the php within a child content.php file to print the author information next to the category list but it broke the site. I'm a newbie when it comes to php! Does anyone have advice on what code to use and where to put it?
