Hello all!
I've been scouring the internet to solve my problem, and it seems there are multiple answers to the situation - and regretably I'm not a pro when it comes to web work, but I try my best. A lot of stop and go!
My problem:
LOCKED OUT for HOURS at a time!
The website I run occasionally has myself and client "locked out" (our IPs) when attempting to view our own website (not just the blog) on any browser- initially we contacted our host and they said nothing was the matter until they found out we had a blog. "Wordpress?" YES, and they told us that WP is notorious for locking people out and it's best to discontinue. However, we have lots of posts to transfer and it seems like a stupid problem so why can't it be fixed?
I looked online, and several people have the same problems, but it doesn't feel like simple english to me! I've tried accessing through the backend to change files, etc.. but before I go any further - does anyone know WHY this keeps happening? From what I gather it's being "hacked" by multiple attackers and the protection on WP locks out the IP. BUT!!! I do not even access this site for a week and suddenly its down! No one has access too it from my IP but me, so it's very confusing because all forums keep saying "make sure to input your password correctly" How can I when I can't even access it?
Any tips?
Thanks!
