Kletsky on "Google + verification in parent-child theme set up"

I want to add the Google + verification code to the header of my site so that it links with the site's Google + page.

Can I use the Wordpress editor to add the code to the header of the site, or is it more complicated than that and requires FTP, etc.? Secondly, I'm using a parent-child set up, so if I am able to use the WP editor, would I make the change in the parent theme or the child theme?
